Whether you're adding your first letter and activity patches or updating a jacket with another year of accomplishments, each patch is individually positioned and sewn for a clean, durable finish.

How It Works
1. Place Your Order
Complete the online Letter Jacket Patch Sewing Order Form. You'll provide your contact information and tell us which patches you'd like added to your jacket. Once your order is complete, you'll receive an email with instructions for preparing and dropping off your jacket.
2. Prepare Your Jacket & Patches
Place your jacket, all patches to be sewn, and your contact information label together in a sealed bag. And don't forget to empty your jacket pockets first!
3. Drop Off Your Jacket and Patches
After completing your order, bring your letter jacket and all patches to the Jostens drop-off location listed in your confirmation email.
At Jostens, complete the provided jacket tags. Place your jacket, patches, and all completed tags inside the provided bag, then place the bag in the designated Sew My Goodness drop-off bin.
That's it! We'll take it from there.
4. We Sew Your Patches
This isn't a heat-press service. Each patch is machine-sewn directly to the jacket for a secure, professional finish. Patches are carefully positioned and stitched just inside the border using coordinating thread.
5. Pick Up
Each jacket is carefully inspected before it is returned. When yours is complete, you'll receive an email letting you know it's ready, along with pickup instructions.
What About the Jacket Lining?
Your patches are sewn securely to the jacket shell—not through the lining. Zippered linings are opened and moved safely out of the way before sewing.
Sleeve patches are installed using a specialized sewing machine designed to reach inside narrow jacket sleeves. This allows the patches to be sewn directly to the sleeve without opening seams or taking the sleeve apart.
The result is a clean, professional installation with the jacket construction left intact and no unnecessary stitching showing through the lining.
Patch Placement
Letter jackets have traditional locations for many types of patches, but every student's collection is a little different.
If you have specific placement requests, you'll have an opportunity to provide them with your order. Otherwise, we'll use standard letter jacket placement as a guide.
Please do not use adhesive to attach your patches before drop-off.
How Long Does It Take?
Standard turnaround is typically 2–6 weeks, depending on the time of year and current order volume.
You'll receive an email as soon as your jacket is finished and ready for pickup.
Need It Sooner?
Yes, we offer a Rush Option.
Select RUSH at checkout for a guaranteed two-week turnaround. The rush fee is an additional $10 per patch.
Plan to Add More Patches Later?
Absolutely.
Letter jackets are meant to grow along with the student wearing them. As you earn additional letters, numbers, activity patches and awards, you can bring your jacket back to have new patches added.
There's no need to wait until you have everything.
